Community Connections

Communities working and learning together

Dear

You may have heard about this project - it has been using the working title of The Audley Communications Project (our vision is attached). It is a community - based project supported by Newcastle Borough Council, local businesses and BT. The project is being developed and we now need to seek views from key local community interests. Your organisation is one we would like to talk with to both help us understand the community better and for you to have a real say in how the project develops.

We are going to introduce the project to the people of Audley Parish on October 6 in the Community Centre. This will be a low key start but we will be demonstrating how we see the project moving forward. We will also be offering some workshops in both personal one-to-one communications and technology based communications.

By now you may well have received a letter from Eddie Boden, Leader of the Council which outlines the project and its goals. We would appreciate about 15 minutes at one of your meetings to tell you more about the project and to seek some advice about our rollout plans.

We are not asking for money or any commitment to work on the project. For the moment we just need to share it with key groups and seek advice. Eventually, we hope the project will be owned and run by the people of Audley but we understand that setting these things up takes time and commitment and that it often falls to a few willing volunteers in communities. This is why we have a team undertaking all the set-up activity.

More details can be found on www.audley.net/comcen2.htm

If your organisation would be willing to let us have 15 minutes to explain our proposals, then please either: write, telephone or email with a date & time. A date before October would be best for us.

You can contact John Smart who is co-ordinating this activity by writing to: 8 Roseberry Drive Madeley CW3 9HL phone: (01782) 750809 OR

email: CommunityConnections@kapability.com

Thank you for taking the time to read this letter and we really hope you can find the time in your agenda to meet with one of our team.

Best wishes and kind regards
